Ready to get started?
The transition from school to employment can present challenges for some young people, including those with disability. School Leaver Employment Support (SLES) is an NDIS-funded program that provides structured support during this transition period.
SLES may include individualised skill development, exposure to work-related activities, and one-to-one support, based on each participant’s goals and needs. The program focuses on supporting the development of practical skills related to employment, independence, and participation in community and vocational settings.
SLES does not provide direct job placement. Outcomes vary between individuals, and the program aims to support participants to explore vocational interests and develop skills that may assist with future employment pathways.
How We Can Help with SLES
Therapy for Kids provides School Leaver Employment Support (SLES) to assist young people with disability during the transition from school to employment or further education. Supports are delivered in collaboration with participants and their families, and are tailored to individual goals, needs, and circumstances.
SLES may include one-to-one support to explore interests and strengths, develop vocational and life skills, and plan next steps following school. Participants may be supported to engage in work-related activities, training, or community-based experiences, depending on their goals.
SLES does not provide direct job placement. Support may continue during early stages of employment or education, where appropriate, to assist with adjustment and participation.
