About Mobile Therapy

Therapy in the places that matter most

Mobile therapy means your child receives support in the real-world environments where they actually live, learn, and play — not just in a clinic room. Our clinicians come to you, bringing all the resources and expertise they'd bring to a clinic session, and applying them where they're needed most.

Therapy in natural settings — at home, at school, in the community — can be particularly powerful for children. It allows clinicians to observe and support your child in context, work on goals that are immediately relevant, and build skills in the very situations where those skills are needed.

Mobile therapy is available within a 15-minute radius of each of our four Perth clinic locations. All four disciplines are available — occupational therapy, speech pathology, psychology, and physiotherapy.

Why Mobile

The benefits of in-home therapy

Bringing therapy to your child's natural environment offers advantages that clinic-based sessions simply can't replicate.

Real-world skill building

Skills are practised in the actual environments where they're needed — making it easier for children to generalise what they learn and apply it in everyday life.

Less stress for children

For children who experience anxiety in unfamiliar settings, therapy at home is often more comfortable and productive. Familiar surroundings can mean a more settled, engaged child.

Family involvement

In-home sessions make it easier for parents and carers to be part of the therapy process — observing strategies, asking questions in context, and building confidence in supporting their child.

School-based support

For school-aged children, in-school sessions allow clinicians to work directly with teachers, observe classroom participation, and support implementation of strategies within the school environment.

No travel for your family

Removing the need to travel to appointments — particularly with young children or complex needs — reduces the logistical burden on families and makes consistent attendance easier to maintain.

NDIS goal alignment

Many NDIS goals are centred around participation in daily life — exactly what mobile therapy supports. In-home and community-based therapy directly targets the settings and activities described in a child's NDIS plan.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Here are the questions we get most often about mobile therapy.

Is there an additional charge for mobile therapy?

A travel fee may apply for mobile therapy sessions to cover the clinician's travel time to your location. We'll be upfront about any travel fees when you enquire, before you book. For NDIS participants, travel costs can typically be claimed separately from the session itself under NDIS travel provisions.

What do I need to have ready for an in-home session?

Not much — your clinician will bring everything they need. It helps to have a reasonably clear space for the session to take place comfortably. Your clinician will chat with you ahead of the first visit about any specific setup that would help, depending on the type of therapy.

Can mobile therapy take place at my child's school?

Yes, with the school's permission. School-based sessions can be incredibly valuable — particularly for occupational therapy and speech pathology, where working directly in the classroom environment allows clinicians to support teachers and embed strategies into the school day. We'll liaise with the school on your behalf to arrange this.

Can my NDIS funding be used for mobile therapy?

Yes. NDIS funding can be used for mobile therapy sessions. The session itself is billed at the standard NDIS rate, and any travel time and kilometres may be claimed separately under NDIS travel provisions. We are a Registered Provider and welcome all management types.

What if my suburb isn't on the list?

The suburb lists above reflect our typical service areas, but they're not exhaustive. If your suburb isn't listed, please get in touch — in some cases we may be able to accommodate locations just outside the standard 15-minute radius, particularly if you're close to one of our clinic boundaries.
