About NDIS Funding

Supporting your child's NDIS journey

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding for supports and services for children and young people with disability, developmental delay, or early intervention needs. If your child has an NDIS plan, you may be able to use their funding to access allied health services at Therapy for Kids Perth.

As an NDIS Registered Provider, we work with participants of all ages and across all management types — self-managed, plan-managed, and agency-managed (NDIA-managed). No referral is required to book. You can book directly online or get in touch with our admin team to discuss your child's needs and confirm funding before your first appointment.

Our clinicians are experienced in working within the NDIS framework — including goal setting, progress reporting, and supporting families through plan reviews. We're here to help your child get the most out of their plan.

Plan Management

All management types accepted

We accept all three NDIS plan management types. Here's how each one works when booking with us.

Management Type 01

Self-Managed

You manage your own NDIS funding and pay providers directly. You will receive an invoice from us following your appointment and submit it to the NDIA for reimbursement yourself.

No referral required. You can book directly online or by contacting our admin team.

Management Type 02

Plan-Managed

A registered Plan Manager handles your NDIS funding on your behalf. We invoice your Plan Manager directly following your appointment — you don't need to manage the payment process.

Please provide your Plan Manager's details when booking so we can set up invoicing before your first appointment.

Management Type 03

Agency-Managed

Also known as NDIA-managed. The NDIA manages your funding and pays registered providers directly through the NDIS portal. As a Registered Provider, we can claim directly from your plan via the NDIS system.

Please bring your NDIS participant number to your first appointment so we can set up your file correctly.

Available Services

Services available under NDIS funding

All four of our disciplines are available under NDIS funding, across all locations and via mobile and telehealth.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Here are the questions families most often ask us about using NDIS funding at Therapy for Kids Perth.

Do I need a referral to book with NDIS funding?

No. You can book directly without a referral — simply book online or get in touch with our admin team. We will ask for your NDIS participant number and plan management details when setting up your file.

What information do I need to bring to my first appointment?

Please have the following ready when you contact us to book:

All management types: Your child's NDIS participant number, plan start and end dates, and confirmation of which supports are funded in the current plan.

Plan-managed: Your Plan Manager's name, organisation, and email address so we can set up invoicing in advance.

Agency-managed: Your participant number so we can register as your provider and claim through the NDIS portal.

Which budget does therapy come from?

Allied health therapy services are typically funded under the Capacity Building — Improved Daily Living budget. Functional Capacity Assessments also fall under this budget. If you're unsure whether your child's plan includes funding for therapy, speak with your Support Coordinator or Local Area Coordinator (LAC) before booking.

Can we use NDIS funding for assessments?

Yes. Functional Capacity Assessments (FCAs) are funded under the Capacity Building — Improved Daily Living budget. For diagnostic assessments such as ADHD or autism assessments, NDIS funding cannot be used — these are available on a self-funded or private health basis. Please see our individual assessment pages for more information.

My child's plan is ending soon — what should we do?

We recommend getting in touch as soon as possible so we can prepare a progress report to support your child's plan review. Progress reports from treating therapists are an important part of the NDIS plan review process — they provide evidence of your child's current needs, progress, and recommended supports going forward. Contact our admin team and we will liaise with your Support Coordinator or LAC as needed.

Can we use NDIS funding for telehealth and mobile sessions?

Yes. NDIS funding can be used for both telehealth and mobile therapy sessions. The same rates apply as for in-clinic sessions. If you are interested in telehealth or mobile therapy, please mention this when booking and we will confirm availability.

We don't have a Support Coordinator — can we still access services?

Absolutely. You do not need a Support Coordinator to access our services. Many families book and manage their child's therapy directly. If you need support navigating the NDIS, your Local Area Coordinator (LAC) or the NDIS itself can help — call the NDIS on 1800 800 110.

Ready to get started?

Book online or get in touch with our admin team — no referral needed. We'll take care of the rest.
