About the Sessions

Bringing families into the conversation

Parents and carers often have questions they're not sure where to take. Is this normal? Should I be worried? What can I actually do at home? A session run through a centre or school they already trust is a low-pressure place to ask.

These sessions are arranged by your centre or school for your families. We come to you, keep it plain and jargon-free, and leave plenty of room for questions — including questions about a parent's own child.

We're mindful that families arrive with very different starting points — some are just curious, some have been worrying for a while. Sessions are pitched so both feel welcome.

Parent sessions are sometimes recommended following an in-centre review, where a strategy works best with families doing something similar at home. You're equally welcome to arrange one on its own.

What We Cover

Topics families ask about

We'll shape the session around what your community wants to talk about. Common requests include:

Supporting Communication at Home

Everyday ways to build language through the things families already do — meals, bath time, the drive to childcare.

Understanding Big Feelings

What's happening for a child when things boil over, and how carers can help them find their way back to calm.

Sleep, Mealtimes & Routines

Practical approaches to the parts of the day families most often find difficult.

Play & Development

How play supports development, and why the messy, repetitive, seemingly pointless kind matters.

Celebrating Neurodivergent Children

A neuroaffirming look at difference — understanding your child's way of experiencing the world rather than trying to change it.

Starting School

Preparing for the transition to school, and what families can do in the months beforehand.

When to Seek Support

What might be worth a conversation with a professional, who to talk to first, and what the process involves.

Navigating Funding

A plain-language introduction to NDIS, Medicare and other options, and where families can go for help.

Your Own Questions

Time is always set aside for parents to ask about their own child. Our clinicians answer what they can on the day and point you to the right next step if more is needed.

How It Works

From enquiry to session

We'll handle the content and the clinician — you just need to gather your families.

Get in touch

Tell us what your families have been asking about and roughly how many you expect.

We shape the session

We'll suggest a format and content, and confirm a clinician, date and cost with you.

You invite your families

We can provide wording for your newsletter or app so it's easy to promote.

We come to you

We deliver the session at your centre or school, with time for questions at the end.

Parents are welcome to ask about their own child. Our clinicians will answer what they can in the room, and where something would be better looked at properly, they'll say so and explain how to arrange that. Families can also contact us directly at any time.
